Personal data. Name, DOB, address, telephone numbers, etc.
Education history, including transcripts and certificates. If available, upload your complete final Master’s or Diplom thesis (if completed) and an English-language summary (2–3 pages).
If thesis is not available yet: upload/supply a paper or publication demonstrating your academic writing skills.
Proof of proficiency in English for non-native speakers: Our doctoral program is conducted in English. If you are a non-native English speaker we require proof of your proficiency. Please upload in the space below either a TOEFL or an IELTS certificate. The minimum score required for a TOEFL paper-based test is 550. The minimum score for the TOEFL internet-based test is 95. Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin's TOEFL code is 8167. For the IELTS the overall band score should be 6.5.
Knowledge of German is not a prerequisite for studying at the School. We would, however, like to know your proficiency (if any) in the language.
Personal statement of motivation for participation in the Mind and Brain program as well as previous experience of transdisciplinary work at the interface of mind and brain research
Detailed project idea/research proposal with methodology (max. 5 pages, including bibliographical references).
You may also include references to:
(a) current state of research
(b) your own previous work
(c) hypotheses
(d) questions
(e) discussion of relevance of research project
Suggestions for supervisors.
