Communicator Award 2011 to Gerd Gigerenzer

Mind & Brain faculty member honored for communicating the art of decision making and dealing with risks and uncertainties to the public.

This year’s Communicator Award of the German Research Council (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) and the Donors’ Association for the Promotion of Sciences and Humanities in Germany (Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft) goes to our faculty member Professor Gerd Gigerenzer, Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Berlin. He is being honored for his skills in communicating key issues such as the art of decision making and dealing with risks and uncertainties to the public. The Communicator Award is given jointly by the DFG and the Stifterverband and recognizes scientists and academics who have communicated their research findings to the public with exceptional success. The prize is valued at €50,000.
