Guest Lecture: Ellen Fridland (CUNY)
It is widely accepted that in order to explain various characteristic features of thought, one must hold that thoughts are constituted by concepts. In this talk, I will argue that many types of rationality need not be explained in terms of full-fledged concepts. I argue that a minimal notion of intelligence is sufficient to account for several kinds of cognitive capacities and behaviors. http://gc-cuny.academia.edu/EllenFridland All are welcome!
