Summer School on Aigina Island

24 June - 1 July 2018. Topic: “New perspectives & methods on social cognition”

An Interdisciplinary Summer School


The Summer School will take place on the Island of Aigina, Greece (approximately one hour by boat from Piraeus, the port of Athens), at the wonderful location of the historic Hotel Apollo (http://www.apollohotelaegina.gr/en). It is organized by Ophelia Deroy (LMU München & Institute of Philosophy, U London) and Manos Tsakiris (Royal Holloway, London) and co-sponsored by the Berlin School of Mind and Brain.

Terms and conditions

1.    The Summer School Organizers aim to accept a maximum number of 50 students to the Summer School.
2.    Your application will be evaluated by the M&B selection committee according to (a) how your research interests relate to the theme of the summer school as evidenced by the topics of your research, any relevant publications and past presentations, (b) the quality of the proposed abstract, and (c) the demonstration of interdisciplinary skills and interests.
3.    The costs associated with accommodation at Hotel Apollo for six nights (check-in Sunday 24 June, check-out Sunday 1 July 2018), lunch for all days (Monday to Saturday) and dinner for three nights at the Hotel Apollo for all accepted students to the summer school will be covered by the Organisers.
4.    Accepted applicants are requested to pay a registration fee of approx. 425 Euro to cover part of the Summer School’s organization costs. For M&B candidates this fee will be reimbursed by M&B after the summer school.
5.    Neither the organizers nor M&B will cover any travel expenses. Students must arrange and finance their own travel.
6.    Accommodation will be in twin rooms occupied by two same-gender students.
7.    The M&B Selection Committee will notify successful applicants within 10 days after the Submission Date Deadline.
8.    If you wish to arrive to Aigina before the beginning of the Summer School or stay after its end, you will be able to do so at discounted rates, but you will need to arrange that with the Hotel Apollo. We will provide you with contact details once you have been accepted.
9.    Don’t forget to bring your swimsuits!
