METIS at HU Berlin

The RTG 2386 “Extrospection” with the Berlin School of Mind and Brain are partners in the METIS network.

In the spirit of Metis, the Greek goddess of wise counsel, the site provides advice on how to promote gender equality and family friendliness in academic work environments. It was built by and for DFG-funded research alliances at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

Special activities, courses, resources and information may be open to all members of the RTG 2386 “Extrospection” and M&B, irrespective of their individual university affiliation. Some of the offers will be for women scientists only, others will be interesting and available for women and men alike. Public events and lectures are open to all.

See the METIS website and subscribe to the monthly Newsletter: https://www.metis.hu-berlin.de

FEM POWER Saxony-Anhalt | 2016 - 2022
12 institutions | 12 x FEM POWER | 1 goal:
More success in science & research through more equal opportunities.

FEM POWER is an ESF-funded statewide program to promote and create equal opportunities between women and men in science and research. It was initiated by the Saxony-Anhalt Coordination Office for Gender Research & Equal Opportunities in cooperation with the Ministry of Economics, Science and Digitalization. It is anchored in the state program for a gender-equal Saxony-Anhalt and is funded by the Operational Program ESF Saxony-Anhalt WISSENSCHAFT Chancengleichheit 2014 to 2020 with funds from the European Union.

FEM POWER Vision - “Fair duplication” of science
The program enables a stronger structural anchoring and professionalization of gender equality work, which is the driver for a successful cultural change. The vision of FEM POWER is an equal opportunity and diverse science system.

Who is FEM POWER?
The two universities and the art academy of the state of Saxony-Anhalt as well as four universities of applied sciences, four non-university research institutions and one university hospital are involved. At twelve scientific institutions in Saxony-Anhalt, a separate FEM POWER project is being implemented as part of the state program, each tailored to the institution in question.
